Hartford Visit #1

On Saturday, September 29, 2012, a team of The Myanmar Project members drove to Hartford, CT. Thanks to the two cars provided by Dwight Hall, we were able to launch a series of meetings with the young people from the Karen refugee community there. We also met Myra Dahgaypaw from the U.S. Campaign for Burma, who introduced us and helped us to set our long-term goals. We resolved to organize regular mentoring meetings and pen-pal pairs that would help to empower the Karen youth. It was a great start to a dialogue with the young members of the Karen community.
